What is mPoint?

mPoint is a revolutionary new product that allows you to accept payment by just scanning a customer’s QR (Quick Response) code. Customers can make payments for purchases using their debit/credit card details and even with the loyalty points that they earn from various banks. Presently, customers in India have a total of Rs 400 crore worth of loyalty points lying idle and waiting to be redeemed.

What is mPoint QR code?

mPoint QR code is a type of a barcode that has the customer’s information required for the payment.

What do I need to accept payment with mPoint?

You need an Android smartphone with a data connection and the mPoint Business app, which you can download from Google Play Store. You also need to add your bank account details in the app to receive money.

Is my data secure with the mPoint Business app?

mPoint Business is owned by Loylty Rewardz Mngt. Pvt. Ltd., the only loyalty company with PCI-DSS certification. Please feel assured your data is safe with us. Kindly refer to privacy policy for more details.

How can I register my account details?

Go to mPoint Business option and select ‘With A/C no’. Enter the account number and the IFSC code to add your account where you want to receive payment from the customer.

How can I register using MMID details?

Go to mPoint Business option and select ‘With MMID’ option. Enter the registered mobile number and MMID to add your account where you want to receive payment from the customer.

What should I do if I don't know the IFSC code of my account?

Tap on the ‘Search’ button on the add bank account screen. Provide the bank’s name, city where you hold the account in that bank, and the branch name or address of the bank. Select the IFSC code where you hold the account from the list that appears.

Why do I need to accept Re.1 for adding bank account?

This is mandatory for the verification and activation of your added bank account. If you receive Re.1, you can know that your account has been verified and activated.

How do I know the value of the mPoint generated by the customer just by looking at the QR code?

On the customer’s phone, below the mPoint QR code there will be the mPoint amount. Also, while scanning the mPoint QR code, the mPoint amount will be displayed on your phone before transfer of money. You can tap on Confirm if it is right. Only after you tap on Confirm, the amount will be transferred.

Will the mPoint be converted immediately into currency and transferred to my bank account?

Yes, the mPoint will be converted immediately into currency and transferred to your bank account.

Is there a threshold that I have to wait for, before the mPoint amount is transferred to my bank account? If so, what is the waiting period?

It will take around 30 seconds for the transaction to be complete and the amount to get transferred to your bank account. It would be the amount and not the reward mPoint that will get transferred to the account.

Will I be charged any fee for accepting mPoint?

Yes, a convenience fee of 0.75 % on the total mPoint amount will be charged for every mPoint accepted. The fee charged will be rounded to the nearest whole number.

What if I lose my phone on which I have my app installed?

Please contact our customer care executive to block your mPoint Business account.

How will I come to know that the amount is transferred in my account?

After the amount is transferred to your account you will immediately receive a payment successful message in the app. You will also receive SMS from your bank on your bank-registered mobile number.

I didn’t receive SMS from my bank, should I accept the customer’s payment?

In rare cases, the SMS from your bank of the transaction that you did may get delayed. For such cases you can either wait for some more time or check your bank account balance.
Rest assured, if the transaction has failed, the failure message will be clearly visible on the app.

What if the transaction fails in between?

If transaction fails in between, no money will be transferred. The mPoint of the customer will still be active. You can try scanning the same mPoint again.

Why is the transaction failing repeatedly?

There can be multiple reasons for that:

  • The bank account details that you have provided are invalid
  • The bank account that you have added is closed, blocked or frozen by your bank
  • The bank account that you have added is an NRE account
  • The account which was added using MMID is your personal account and not a merchant account
  • Your daily amount limit has been exceeded
  • Two transactions of same amount have been requested in sequence in a very short duration
What if I get mPoint expired message after scanning mPoint?

The transaction will not happen and the customer will have to generate another mPoint which needs to be scanned. You can tell the customer that for the expired mPoint, the amount will be rolled back to his/her account(s).

What happens if a wrong transaction was made?

You can refund the customer directly through any conventional payment mode e.g. cash. The transaction once complete through mPoint Business app cannot be reversed.

What should I do if I want to change the account number in the app?

Go to Bank A/C Management, select an account and tap edit. Now, add your new account. This will replace the older bank account.

Is there a limit on number of bank accounts that can be added?

Yes, a maximum of 3 bank accounts can be added. Also bank accounts can be changed a maximum of 3 times, inclusive of all accounts.

What if I want to view my past mPoint transactions?

Tap on hamburger icon (☰), then go to mPoint Transaction History. Here you can see your past transactions along with details such as Reference No that you receive via SMS from your bank for each mPoint transaction. You can view total transaction amount for today, last 7 days and last 30 days.

Can I track mPoint usage for my stores and users?

Yes, you can do that in mPoint transaction history. Each mPoint transaction is tagged with a store where the mPoint is scanned and a user who did the scan. You can filter transaction history by users or by stores so as to keep track of performance of your various stores and your users.

What is Store Management?

In store management, you can add stores if you have multiple stores and can accept mPoint for different added stores. Each store has to be linked to one bank account. One bank account can be linked to multiple stores.

What is User Management?

In User Management, you can add users who can do various tasks related to managing mPoint related functions along with accepting mPoint. This role is usually assigned to store managers or cashiers, etc. The roles have different permissions with them. For example, a store manager can do things like viewing all mPoint transaction history for a store while a cashier cannot do such things.

What is Role Management?

In Role Management, you can add custom roles according to your specific needs and assign these roles to your added users. You can decide for different permissions of various in-app features for your custom roles. For example, you can create a custom role for account manager who can view all the mPoint transaction history of your company irrespective of store or users who accepted mPoint.

Can I track mPoint usage for my stores and users?

Yes, you can do that in mPoint transaction history. Each mPoint transaction is tagged with a store where the mPoint is scanned and a user who did the scan. You can filter transaction history by users or by stores so as to keep track of performance of your various stores and your users.

I have downloaded mPoint Business app but the app is not running. Why is this happening?

This could be due to multiple reasons:

  • No proper internet coverage. There are times when there is network fluctuation due to which the app can run slow / crash
  • Older app version. Current version will have to be downloaded from Play Store
  • Using app on Android device older than Android 4.1
  • Entering wrong Login credentials
